It's amazing what can be accomplished in 24 hours in Iceland.  I met a local host that was willing to brave the icy roads of the golden circle to see frozen waterfalls, walk between the North American and European tectonic plates, visit a hot spring, see impressive multi-tiered waterfalls, watch geysers in -18 degrees F, pass through countrysides full of Icelandic horses (yes, they have their own breed!), and drive through Reykjavik city points of interest. What an intensely beautiful country! Did you know the population of Iceland is around 400,000. One third of which live in the capital city Reykjavik.
